Peek-a-Boo Easter Egg Bunnies
These little bunnies are hiding in the tall grass ready to pounce for Easter. Use different colored eggs to make a whole rainbow of colorful bunnies. Pink and blue rabbits hiding in the grass are so much fun to make and they're even more fun when finished. This is a great interactive Easter project, plus you can reuse some of those plastic eggs piling up.
Easter is right around the corner and this craft includes a paper straw so it'll be easy to stand these up in a grass filled mason jar when not being played with.
I've also painted the oh so famous egg carton to make the flowers growing in the grass under these bunnies. Egg carton is really a great material to work with and there are lots of different things you can reuse them for. Follow my tutorial below for help on making your own hopping bunnies.
Step 1. First make the flowers by cutting out the egg carton with a circle punch, then shape some petals with a scissor. Paint them and let them dry well.
Step 2. Cut some strips of tissue paper a little bit bigger than your cup. Cut the strips like grass, I use a hand shredding scissor. Then line some of the grass inside the cup and secure.
Step 3. Cut a little x in the bottom of the cup to insert the straw. Then wrap some more grass around the outside of the cup and secure.
Step 4. Glue your flowers to the grass.
Step 5. Make your bunny by cutting out ears from foam and eyes and face from cardstock paper. Hot glue the straw to the bottom of your bunny.
Press the straw into the bottom of the cup and slide the bunnies up and down!
