Oaxacan Animal Sculptures

These guys are inspired by Oaxacan animal sculptures, they were so much fun to make and the possibilities are endless.

• I used cardboard toilet tubes to begin the armature for these guys.
• Then I taped on limbs, neck and head with crumpled up pieces of paper.
• You can use plaster of Paris to cover them up, a wheat paste mixture or a simple glue 'n water mixture.
• Dip strips of paper in your mixture of choice and begin papier-mâché-ing.
• Paint once it's dry really well.
• Add details like a fancy tissue paper mane and tail!
