Beautiful Birch Tree Watercolor
Kindegarten students did a fantastic job painting with water color. Here they were asked to make winter birch trees. I love all of the added details.
First we put down blue tape on white paper for the trees, then the kids painted the entire background, even on top of the tape. While the water color was still wet the kids sprinkled salt on the puddled water. When the salt and water dry, it creates a crystallized, snowy effect. It's like a natural sparkle! Once the entire painting was dry the tape was removed leaving the white trees behind. Paper cardinals were added at the very end. Aren't they nice fluttering in front of the colorful backgrounds?! |
