Modern Paper Vase PrintableA handmade spring project is the perfect fix for winter blues. This super trendy paper vase brings a touch of modern wonder to a colorful bouquet. Paint, draw or stamp a spray of flowers in this super modern white vase, let its sleek lines and geometric shapes be the intrigue here. A bright palette of colorful flowers will compliment the contemporary design. A 3D paper vase is a really awesome alternative to those expensive cards you come across in the store. When I go to buy a card for Mother's Day or birthday I sometimes dig the fancy cards with layers of paper and small embellishments but the prices are eye popping! With a little effort and determination you can put together this modern vase for a super personal card or just as a beautiful piece of art for your home. Download my free printable below and check out my tutorial as well! Yes, I made the stamps used for the flowers in this project. I've mentioned before and I'll mention again that I love carving my own stamps. I use a Speedball Speedy-Carve Block, I get 'em at Michaels. They are pink rubber blocks just like the material you'd find on one of those fancy, expensive stamps in the craft store. Depending on the size of the block it could get pricey but totally worth it because you can make several of your own images instead of buying a bunch of over priced stamps which will cost you way more than buying the blank carving blocks. I recommend carving your own stamps, it is a very satisfying technique and you'll love the results, give it a try. Remember that you'll need a lino cutter, which is the tool used to cut into these blocks!
Materials:
Directions: Step 1. Print and cut out the vase with a scissor or craft knife. Step 2. Score all of the lines including both solid and dotted. Use a craft knife or something like a credit card to score the lines. Step 3. All of the solid lines get folded towards you while the dotted lines get folded away from you, imagine this vase is folded like an accordion. Step 4. Fold the flaps back, add glue and gently press the vase to your background. Add flowers to your vase how you'd like, could be real, dried or fresh, painted, made from tissue paper etc. Get creative and enjoy your modern spring vase! Easy Quick Bunny CraftSo Easter is this weekend, another holiday sneaking up on us, and I guess it's safe to say that I was really into bunnies this year! What's not to like anyway? I literally made this little bunny in less than 10 minutes, so if you really need a last minute bunny craft then look no further! I don't think a tutorial is even necessary for this little guy, I literally just lopped a toilet tube in about half and glued half of a plastic egg to the top of the tube. Those plastic eggs are a perfect fit for toilet tubes, how cool! Then of course I used a pipe cleaner to make the ears, the holes are already there to easily stick them in.
Add a face however you'd like, I used a chalk marker, this was easy and quick, get creative and use a combination of materials like gel pens, foam shapes and glitter glue! Be sure to get the whole family involved to come up with some unique, fantastical bunnies! Mini Unicorn PiñataHow magical is this little unicorn piñata? Create this wonderful little piñata for your next unicorn party! Or how about for a unicorn themed bedroom! I plan on keeping this guy in my classroom for my students to admire, and for myself for that matter. Also, did you know that April 9th is national unicorn day haha I'll have to remember that for next year! This piñata will be perfect to celebrate this special event! I wonder why unicorns are so interesting to us? Perhaps it's our interest in something very rare, or maybe it's our endless desire to believe that magic is real? Whatever it is, this mythical creature has a story that deserves to be told and it's only in our imaginations that it's legacy will come alive. See my full tutorial for this mini piñata at hellowonderful.co! This piñata doesn't require papier mâché which makes it quite easy to pull off! Visit hellowonderful.co to see more photos of this magical guy and of course see my tutorial for making this irresistible piñata!
Remember to have fun and be patient while makin' your masterpiece! Peek-a-Boo Easter Egg BunniesThese little bunnies are hiding in the tall grass ready to pounce for Easter. Use different colored eggs to make a whole rainbow of colorful bunnies. Pink and blue rabbits hiding in the grass are so much fun to make and they're even more fun when finished. This is a great interactive Easter project, plus you can reuse some of those plastic eggs piling up. Easter is right around the corner and this craft includes a paper straw so it'll be easy to stand these up in a grass filled mason jar when not being played with. I've also painted the oh so famous egg carton to make the flowers growing in the grass under these bunnies. Egg carton is really a great material to work with and there are lots of different things you can reuse them for. Follow my tutorial below for help on making your own hopping bunnies. Materials:
Directions: Step 1. First make the flowers by cutting out the egg carton with a circle punch, then shape some petals with a scissor. Paint them and let them dry well. Step 2. Cut some strips of tissue paper a little bit bigger than your cup. Cut the strips like grass, I use a hand shredding scissor. Then line some of the grass inside the cup and secure. Step 3. Cut a little x in the bottom of the cup to insert the straw. Then wrap some more grass around the outside of the cup and secure. Step 4. Glue your flowers to the grass. Step 5. Make your bunny by cutting out ears from foam and eyes and face from cardstock paper. Hot glue the straw to the bottom of your bunny. Press the straw into the bottom of the cup and slide the bunnies up and down!
Easter Bunny Cookie Felt Craft Finger PuppetDon't you love those awesome sugar cookies decorated like animals and trending characters, I think they're great and I love to eat them. Spring is the perfect time to make a felt bunny cookie of your own. This little bunny is easy to make and only requires a few materials, the kids will love having these little guys on their fingers hoping around like rabbits! See my full tutorial at hellowonderful.co! How cute is this bunny cookie look-a-like! I think it's pretty darn adorable. Why buy little trinkets for the Easter basket when you can design some handmade toys for the kids, or how about going with a baking theme basket for the kids filled with stuff for them to make treats in the kitchen! A little cookie like this looks good enough to eat and is such a great alternative to the typical things you'd put in Easter baskets for kids! Make these after you're done dying your eggs!
