Happy hunting in Pokemon Go, be safe! Paper Rose TutorialThere are tons of these awesome paper flowers out there and they really do look awesome in multiples. You can find tutorials for these on just about any creative how-to blog. My rose here is an original design, I've hand drawn the templates and I'm sharing them at The Art Dream and at hellowonderful.co head on over to download the templates. I recently made about 13 of these for our school play, A Mother Goose Comedy, it was a last minute production and I had to create something to spruce up our school's stage. These flowers were a great way to fill space and add a little magic to the play. I also made some green vines out of bulletin board paper to glue the flowers to, and everyone really loved the final display. I love being able to help and bring some fun to a special event, the teachers were so grateful because we literally didn't have any props, everything we did have was hand made. The play was also hysterical and the kids did a fantastic job performing! I look forward to working on more school plays in the near future! Remember to head over to hellowonderful.co to read my tutorial on this rose project and download my template for the petals!
Finding Dory Craft With PatternWhen Finding Nemo was released in theaters summer 2003 I was pretty excited, seeing that movie for the first time was probably one of my most memorable theater experiences. Finding Nemo had left such an impression with it's clever cast and endearing plot, not to mention some of the hysterical quotes I still find my self repeating. I'm just as excited for Finding Dory and I thought this Dory craft would be a nice summer activity to do with my niece and nephew when they come to visit. You can download my pattern file here...
I made my Dory with these cutouts, but you can get creative and make your own patterns if you'd like. Materials:
Step 1. Download my pattern file and cut out all of your shapes. I recommend using white cardstock to print on.
Step 2. Cut up some blue tissue paper into about 1 1/2 to 2 inch squares. Bigger pieces for little fingers and smaller squares for older kids. Step 3. Pour some glue into a paper plate and use the mini roller to apply glue to the body. Next start glueing on your tissue paper. Don't forget the circle for the cheek! Step 4. Add the rest of the details to Dory. Step 5. Create the dorsal fin with a long piece of tissue paper. Remember to "just keep swimming"! |
