Beach Hut Printable Paper CraftEver see these European inspired beach huts? They are quite charming in their bright vivid colors. Head over to the shop to download this set of two paper houses. I always wondered what beach huts were for, well they were meant for changing into your "bathing costume" haha and for seeking shelter from the hot sun! After I put my beach huts together, I added clothes pins as risers to give it an authentic "lift". I also used some balsa wood to make the white risers and I think these came out so fun!
The huts will be so great for the kids to play with this summer, or use this for your beach themed get together as a display on your table! Whichever way you use these beach hut printables you'll surely have something unique to share! How about placing battery powered pillar candles under them for a warm glow, so many ideas. I just like having mine on display to bring a summer vibe into the house, and what a way to remind me of the beautiful beach. Get them in the shop now! Watermelon, Lemon & Orange Paper-CraftI just love these flavors together and the wedge shape is such a fun and easy one to paper-craft, makes me want a nice tall lemonade with an umbrella. Go on over to the shop to download these guys right away! I was so excited when the watermelon, lemon and orange came together, it's nice to create new fun printables and then bring them to life, plus they are so fun to play with and display wherever you'd like. These little guys would make great summer time activities for a party, pretend play or as placards for a table setting!
How will you use your fruit wedges paper-craft? Students With Their WorkWe were lucky enough to get to share our felt projects with Trixi Symonds over at Coloured Buttons and here are some of my students showing theirs off. They had a ton of fun designing and sewing their felt friends, something that I hope they will admire for a long time. Trixi had asked me to give the students a little questionnaire about their sewing experiences and you can see the full interview over at Coloured Buttons... Check out the little gallery below of my kiddos, they're the best and so talented too. Allen, Tabitha, Abbie and Ellery are all in the 5th grade soon going over to middle school. Tabitha said... "The part about sewing which is most fun is finishing the project." I'd have to agree with this statement, having the finished project makes me excited and proud as well, knowing that you've accomplished something pretty darn awesome!
Ellery is no stranger to sewing, she has made several things at home with her mom and plans to keep expanding on her sewing skills. Abbie was actually taught how to sew by Ellery and would like to make more cute projects on her own time... Go for it Abbie! I'm happy to say that I (Mr. Lavelle) taught Allen how to sew. Allen is a superstar artist and probably didn't need my teaching anyway because he's a total natural! Good job guys, your work looked great at the art show! Go to Coloured Buttons now to see more! Superhero Printables Zooming Into ActionSuperheroes have always been one of my most favorite things, and what kid hasn't wanted a super power of their own? There must be a superhero for every strange ability writers and creators could think of like turning into a stone statue, projecting acid sweat or being able to eat matter itself... Weird, but not all are so bizarre, most heroes are pretty cool and their abilities and heroism is inspiring! I've created a team of super, confident, powerful heroes ready for some serious action, just head over the the shop to get the printable that includes all 4 characters.
Their team jet is also available for taking care of crime in a timely fashion and it's ready to take off at the sound of the alarm. The jet also comes with a little headquarters playset, where the heroes gather for their mission briefings. I've always loved playsets to go along with my action figures, it helps set the scene and really helps to jumpstart the imagination. I think superhero play is so important, it helps kids come to a solution based on good values, the ability to discern between right and wrong, and the courage it takes to do something about it. Maybe your little one will assign these characters with powers that help people, make a change or support the people around them, after all this is what the meaning of a true superhero is! Who are your favorite superheroes and what kinds of super power would you like to have? |
