You could also use ribbons, yarn, or even strips of wrapping paper or a combination of all of them, but remember you want the materials to be lightweight so that they move and drape well. You can also add glitter or even perhaps real shells, and don't forget you can always color on top of my printables. Follow my instructions below for putting this craft together! You and your little ones will love it! Remember to visit my shop to download this printable. Check out the video to see my mermaid swim around! Available in a rainbow of colors for kids and adults, their exclusive designs feature Reinforced Tail Tip Technology and a Patented Monofin. Dive into their site to see mermaid tail blankets, mermaid leggings, and mermaid bikini swimwear. Materials:
Directions: Step 1. Download the mermaid from the shop and print on white cardstock. Cut out the shapes, there are five in total. Step 2. Prepare your tissue paper by cutting it into strips, I made thin strips with hand shredding scissors as well as wider strips for the bulk of the hair. Step 3. Glue the smaller strips to the front of the printable and be sure to cut around the face. Glue the longer strips to the back of the printable. Step 4. For the tail roll up the circular piece until you form a party hat shape, continue to tighten the cone until it fits into a toilet tube. Glue it together and put a piece of tape to hold it in place while it dries. Step 5. Cut a slit in the tip of the tube to slide the fins in. Step 6. Wrap the body around a toilet tube tightly and secure with staples.
Step 7. Glue on the arms how you'd like, glue the rim of the cone and place it inside of the tube, allow it to dry well. Step 8. Add any kind of extra details you'd like!
