Halloween Paper Skull CraftBony and brooding, this paper skull is not so thrilled to be separated from the rest of his bone body. Design your own skull head for Halloween! I just couldn’t resist making a simple skull head that I could display as is or decorate to my hearts content! Halloween is just around the corner and I wanted to give you guys something fun yet easy to make with the kids at the last minute. So here’s this pale, boxy skeleton ready to be decorated and displayed. Use makers, crayons, stickers, glitter or even gems to make this guy spooky, scary and outstanding!
A great way to dress this skull up is to decorate him with patterns symbolic of the Mexican holiday “Dia De Los Muertos”, it’s called “Day of the Dead” in English and they celebrate and honor their relatives who’ve passed on! It’s a very beautiful holiday which is recognized on November 1st. Check out how I’ve decorated my skull below. If you need some reference then just look up “sugar skulls” in your search engine. I used markers and a sharpie to draw on the details, let your imagination run wild. Be sure to download the file below! Please right click the file and save it to your computer before printing. If you are having trouble with the printed size of the image, make sure that you select "fit to page" or "print actual size" in your printer options window. Do not print from the open window of your internet browser after clicking on the file, your printout will be very tiny!
If you love Halloween then check out my original haunted paper house designs in the shop here at The Art Dream! I’ve also created many other fun and easy Halloween crafts, just explore the blog to find some more inspiration. Materials:
Directions: Step 1. Download and print the skull on cardstock paper, you could use whatever color you’d like. Step 2. Design and color your skull however you wish. You may want to save three dimensional embellishments for after it’s folded and put together. Step 3. Cut out the skull and score on all of the lines. You could use a craft knife, popsicle stick or even the corner of a credit card. Scoring is done by pressing and dragging the tip of your tool across the line creating a dent making it easier to fold. Step 4. Fold on all of the lines, glue the tabs and press them to their correlating sides. The skull will be a 5 sided box when finished.
