Printable Valentine’s Day ActivitiesValentine’s Day is right around the corner! Since many students are still doing virtual learning during this pandemic, we’ve found some fun ideas for them to do at home. The University of St. Augustine has printable Valentine’s Day-themed activities that are great for keeping the kids engaged and motivated. Check them out: 1. Candy Heart Placements If you’re a preschool teacher or have younger-aged children at home, this placement activity is easy and mess-free. It’s a fun way to help kids improve their hand-eye coordination as a precursor to writing. 2. V-Day Handwriting Worksheet This is another great activity for preschool and kindergarteners to practice holding pencils and strengthening their hand muscles. 3. Cupid Tracing For children with cognitive and physical differences, tracing activities can help them stay focused and feel more relaxed. Occupational therapists recommend these types of activities to parents, as it’s a great way to incorporate therapeutic methods into their child’s daily routine. Games and crafts are natural ways for children to practice basic cognitive and motor tasks. 4. Arrow-in-Heart Grid Drawing
Make it a (friendly) competition! students and parents can do this together to see who’s heart looks the best. By breaking the drawing into smaller sections, kids can better understand shape-ratios. It’s a creative way to support their observational and drawing skills.
